I honestly believe that Physical Therapy exercises should be taught in gym class. It should be a mandatory subject that everyone should know, because let's face it, it was barely touched on in my gym classes.
I recently hurt my shoulder, I did something funky to the muscles in there when sparring, and thankfully I have always been a part of sports when growing up (me and my sisters), so we are used to sports injuries and what to do, how to help them heal properly.
Which made me realize, I only know how to do that because of being an athlete when younger, so I'm used to the physical rehab being part of the healing process. I know how to tell the difference between the "oh shit this will injure you more stop now" pain, and the "suck it up buttercup, and push past this to get better" pain, and have the mental fortitude to be able to properly do so.
And I also only know what exercises to do for what body part and what type of injury because of the sports injuries of myself and my sisters, so if I pull multiple muscles in my shoulder, I can get it all better in a faster manner and regain full mobility and strength without risking further injury, which is important as you get older. Which not a lot of people know how to do and what to do, which can be very important in the first few days after sustaining the injury.

Spinal Cord injuries (SCIs)can lead to multiple organ complications. One way to remember the different issues that arise from SCIs are remembering the "Seven Sequelae" in Spinal Cord Injuries, which (most) start with an "S". - psychosocial (yes, I know - not an S) - secretions - sphincters - sex - sanginous - sympathetic - skin
Zoom in to learn about the epidemiology and issue of each complication post SCI.
To learn more, refer to the resources I have listed.
*Have a particular rehabilitation subject that you want to learn more about? DM me!

Jamie, a victim of abuse, reaching out to his father, the abuser - not to make his father feel better but as a way to heal himself… I’m gonna cry.
Sure, it might be the worst fucking idea in the world, it might have terrible repercussions and his dad will almost 100% never change but Jamie doing all that for HIMSELF?? To make it easier for himself to move on with his life.
I’m so happy for him.

The Drake Charm
Duke: *looking over at a portrait of Jack and Tim that Babs has for some reason*
Duke: you know.
Babs: hm.
Duke: I know I'm not the only one who thinks this, but are we really sure Tim and Bruce aren't related, I mean-
Babs: No, Duke, Tim just takes after his mother.
Babs: Also we've done too many DNA tests, with and without their knowledge. No relation.
Duke: huh. It's just, weird, isn't it? I mean, they really don't look that alike.
Babs: Genetics can be weird, Duke. Plus, Tim takes after Jack in different ways.
Duke: How so?
*flashback- Police Charity Ball*
Jim Gordon: *rumpled and missing his bow tie* Barbara there you are- listen, Officer Michael is going to take you home, as Daddy has to go take care of some...paperwork.
Younger Barbara: Dad I'm twelve not two- Wait, where have you been, and why's your tie missing-?
Jack Drake: *enters, messy and wearing Jim's tie and with Officer Michaels* Jim, shall we go?
Jim:
Younger Barbara:
Jim: Be good, I love you sweetie *leaves with Jack*
Officer Michaels:
Barbara:
Officer Michaels: You know it's not paperwork your dad is doing, right-
Barbara: Officer Michaels, kindly shut your mouth up.
*End of Flashback*
Babs: Too much charisma and not enough sense, for starters.
Duke: ?

i know that a majority of the characters in aftg with visible scars and injuries don’t necessarily have permanent or chronic injuries but it’s a nice change of pace to see fan art depict injuries and scars across the board. comics really shy away from characters being visibly hurt for longer than the story “requires” or showing past physical trauma outside of one off moments and it’s especially wild that characters so reliant on physical fitness aren’t regularly depicted with tools to aid in the upkeep of that. both in canon and in fanon??? for something with a plot as outlandish as cape comics it’s so refreshing to see scars and kt tape and braces be a mainstay in aftg fanwork. love u recovery devices. love u body maintenance tools. love u sports medicine

Just. Look.
If you are in the hospital for something physical and they start giving you a psych questionnaire.
Do not tell them anything that is not immediately relevant to the treatment you are there for. They do not need to know about your trauma history to treat your broken bones.
Because sometimes they will decide that you need treatment for your mental health more than you need treatment for your immediate physical health, and they won't give you the treatment you need. Or they will decide you're drug seeking or making it up. Or legal will inform them they don't have the right liability insurance to handle your case.
Just. If you are not in crisis, the guys in charge of setting bones only need to know about meds.

The only reason I write fanfiction is that, with preferences in anything, I am thoroughly ✨️specific✨️and go figure, no one has yet written that awfully, precisely specific fic that has been living in my head rent-free for weeks. So, you know, I have to do it myself.

[ID: Five panels from Trigun Maximum. The first shows Milly and Meryl looking up at something, startled. The second shows Wolfwood hovering around a corner, peering out from behind it. The third shows a closer up image of Wolfwood peering around the corner, a serious look on his face as he says, "Booze? Him? First thing in the mornin'? Ya gotta be kiddin'..." The fourth panel shows Vash crouching on the ground, a really awkward face smile on his face as he looks down on his coat, which has been splashed with whisky from a broken bottle. He's sort of laughing, the speech bubbles saying "Ha... heh heh..." but he doesn't really look happy. The fifth panel is a close-up of Vash's face as he slurps some of the spilled whisky off of his glove. Despite being close up, his face is so heavily shaded that it's almost impossible to make anything out. His left eye is sort of visible, closed and curved as if he might be smiling, but that's really not the vibe. End ID.]
I know I yell a lot about Nightow ruining my health and happiness but Colourless Expression really is such an INTENSELY impactful character chapter about SUFFERING. These people drink a lot for fun (can't blame 'em, given where they live) but in the aftermath of remembering about July Vash is day drinking to cope--and his friends don't even know he's been drinking until now. FUCKING OUCH
